My Summary
About Me
I am married and have two grown up children and we have family pets of a rabbit and fish.
We have fun and learn through arts,music and dance,stories,outdoor learning ( local forests and allotment) and loose parts and number sense and so these are incorporated into our daily routines.
Our aim is to support children to be confident.to have independence. to be compassionate. to be process learners.
Therefore enabling them to have life and school ready skills
I can provide a prospectus if you wish for more details. We have recently been Ofsted inspected May 2025 and we kept our grading.
My Experience
I have been a registered childcare professional since June 2001 when i gave up work too stay at home and look after my children. My husband Mick joined as my assistant (2015) Our son joined as an assistant (2022)Our setting is one of us all being a team ( children and adults) where by as we have become friends and looked after each other , we have learnt to compliment each other's lives with the things we like and are good at. The ethos of the setting is one of learning through play.
My Qualifications
I have a completed the Bristol standard award, which is a quality assurance scheme. I also have a NVQ level 3 qualifications in childcare and education.Our last Ofsted inspection July 2019 was graded outstanding in all areas. We have achieved Gold in healthy Smiles and a silver kite mark in Health and well being accreditation in 2022.

Our hours of work are 7:00am till 5:30pm Monday to Thursday 7:00am till 4:30 pm on a Friday.

These can be discussed on your visit but I do accept most childcare vouchers and am approved for all funding if your eligible.

Kathy is AMAZING! Great environment for children to "be children" in. So warm and my son took to her very easy. Is flexible around your needs and of course your child's needs. My children coming home with lovely crafts and bakes. We are blessed to have found such a special person who loves her job more than anyone else I know. We are blessed as a family to have her and I trust her very much, there is nothing that troubles her and she really will do anything to help. Kathy is brillant. 🌟

Our son went to Kathy's for nearly two years before he started school. We had moved him from a nursery setup, and he really enjoyed his time with Kathy and Mick. One of the highlights about this settings is the amount of outdoor activities that get added to their weekly schedule. The kids love it, they are closer to nature, and the motto of learning from the world around you is remarkable.
Now that our son is in reception, we have had some really good feedback from his teachers on how confident and self reliant he has been. This is a testament to the care and learning he has received from this setting. Will highly recommend to any new parents looking for a safe and reliable childcare option.

My daughter is cared for by Kathy and my husband and I couldn’t be happier. Kathy made every effort to make sure she knew as much about our daughter so she could settle her in earlier this spring.
Our child is joyful, settled and loving the environment three times a week.
There’s no issues leaving her, I get an enthusiastic hug, wave and ‘bye-bye’ each morning!
Which makes your day when having to leave for first born (who is currently just 16 months old).
Kathy meticulousness plans activities for the children where they not only have fun but learn key lessons also.
I’m amazed at the speed my daughter is developing. Kathy works well in making sure us as parents are on the same page as her and Mick with making sure the very best is given and drawn out.
Kathy not only cares for the children she’s responsible for but she’s been of great support to us parents to.
Nothing seems to phase her and I’ve had many words of wisdom.
I know my daughter is safe, secure, stimulated and most of all smiling everyday in Kathy’s care. We are very blessed to have her.
