My name is Nicola, my husband and I live in Plymouth, near the centre with our two boys aged 8 and 10
My Requirements
We're a family looking for a warm, experienced and reliable person to help us with childcare, mainly school pick ups and holiday help. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, wants to help them learn and grow, and can become a trusted, familiar presence in their lives.
Basic Overview:
School pick-ups and after-school care on Wednesdays and Fridays (home-based, Wednesdays may be flexible for another day)
Some full-day childcare a few days weekly during school holidays (9am-5/6pm)
Getting involved in activities, trips out and about in school holidays
Supporting with homework and creative projects
Supporting downtime and transitions
About the boys:
Our 10-year-old is in his last year at mainstream primary. He has autism and ADHD so needs a little extra support. He loves art, music, filmmaking and being creative. He benefits from a calm space when he needs to decompress.
Our 7-year-old is energetic and loves joining in with his brother's projects!
What we're looking for:
Someone with childcare/SEN experience who is:
Calm, confident and dependable
Happy to actively engage and encourage their interests
Able to recognise when they need downtime
Patient and flexible
Preferred:
Previous childcare/SEN experience
Current DBS check

Johanna is wonderful with both our boys. From the start of our contact she has been professional and understanding. She is a very calming influence on our oldest child who is has ASD needs. We feel very confident in her ability to both have fun and take care of them. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

We had Lucy come in at short notice to help with our 3 year old who had broken his leg. She she so good, I cannot recommend enough! My son had a lovely time, painting, playing games and having stories read to him. I was upstairs working and I could hear him laughing and enjoying himself. Lucy is professional, capable and highly recommended.
