My Experience
Having worked in childcare for over 25 years I have supported over 60 families with looking after their children, mainly new-borns and babies under 6 months.
I am extremely good at establishing feeding and sleeping routines which are specific for each child so cover all their needs and promote healthy development but also fit well with the rest of the family.
I am also very capable of spotting potential feeding/digestive/sleeping/developmental issues and giving advice on how to prevent/sort them out while still listening to parents' wishes and preferences.
I am very calm and reassuring in my approach and excellent listener
I keep myself up-to-date with current guidelines and provide advice of safe feeding, sleeping etc
I am also happy to complete nursery duties and keep baby's areas and equipment clean/hygienic tidy and safe
My Qualifications
April 2026 – Food Hygiene & Feeding Safely L2 Certificate – training included Food safety advice for children aged 5 & under, How to prepare Infant formula and Safe weaning and Food storage
March 2026 – Advanced Safeguarding Infants & Children Certificate – training delivered in line with the latest EYFS 2021 safeguarding guidance.
July 2025 - Paediatric First Aid Certificate - training included Dealing with Emergencies, First Aid Kits, Resuscitation, Anaphylactic Shock Awareness, Poisoning, Bleeding, Burns and Scalds, Airway Obstruction and Choking, Common Chronic Conditions and Meningitis and Serious Sudden Illness
December 2011 – Night nannies workshop on dairy and lactose intolerance and food allergies
April 2010 - Night nannies workshop on reflux / colic and first aid with Lara Parker ( Great Ormond street paediatric nurse with expertise in respiratory problems ) as a speaker
June 2009 - Newborn Education Services and Training - NEST Diploma in Post-Natal care ( Maternity Nursing ) - training included The whole role of the Post-Natal Carer, Best practice Breastfeeding, Best practice Formula Feeding, Special Care Babies, Special Care Mothers, Recognising Post-Natal Depression, Care of the Newborn Babies, Care of the New Mother, Nutrition, Multiple Births, Routine and Hygiene and Contractual Obligations
As part of my coursework in special areas of care I wrote an essay on Post-Natal Depression
September 2006 - Council for Awards in Childrens‘ Care and Education Introduction to Childcare Practice Certificate - part of full qualification CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Home-based Childcare.
June 2006 - Tinies Maternity Practitioner training which covered Infant Health Checks, Normal& Abnormal Development, Breast & Bottle Feeding Practice & Problems, Baby Massage Techniques and Sleep Management Skills
My Availability
I am looking for daytime maternity work (minimum 5 hours bookings) or night nanny work ( minimum 10 hours bookings)
Also available for ad hoc 24 hour cover ( over the weekends or if travelling with family)
My Fees
- Maternity Nursing from £25.00 per hour (gross)
- Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
From £25 per hour gross for single baby
From £30 per hour gross for twins
24 hour rates available on request
