My Requirements

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person to work with a lovely 8-year-old boy who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He is verbal child but limited and has communication skills. He is a very playful, happy child who has high sensory needs and enjoys sensory and movement play.

We are looking for:
? After school care, support and play during evenings and weekends
? Someone to support him with indoor and outdoor activities such as jumping on the trampoline and riding a bike
? Someone to play games, make puzzles and encourage creative play such as drawing
? Someone to help with supporting his communication through speech and other methods, such as PECS (training can be provided on this)
? Someone to support academic learning (reading, writing, numeracy)
? Someone to take him for outdoor activities, including park trips, play centres, walks and shopping
? 6-8 hours per/week including weekends if possible
? Someone who is willing to incorporate the Verbal Behaviour approach (full training provided)

We are looking for a commitment of 3 days a week with a minimum of 2 hours a day. Timings are flexible and can be negotiated depending on availability.

Competitive rates of pay (£10-15 per hour depending on experience).

Experience with special needs is desirable, but not essential as training can be provided if necessary.

Training in special needs and communication can be provided.

DBS is required.
