About Me
Hello, I’m Cerys Baker — a qualified teacher with a BA in Primary Education and QTS, and a Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. I’m passionate about supporting children’s growth in a warm, safe, and engaging environment. With a strong foundation in education and child development, I aim to create a space where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to explore the world around them.
In September, I’ll be starting a master’s degree in Social Work, continuing my commitment to making a meaningful difference in children’s lives and wellbeing. I believe that high-quality childcare is built on trust, compassion, and a deep understanding of each child’s unique needs — and that’s exactly what I strive to offer every day.
My Experience
I’ve been fortunate to work with children across a wide range of ages, settings, and needs — giving me a well-rounded understanding of how to support each stage of their development.
I’m a qualified teacher with a BA in Primary Education with QTS, and I also hold a Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. My professional background includes working in nurseries, primary schools, and as a holiday club manager, where I’ve planned and led fun, enriching activities that support both learning and wellbeing.
I also have experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), and I’m passionate about creating inclusive environments where every child feels valued and supported. My approach is always child-centered, adaptable, and grounded in patience and empathy.
In addition to my educational work, I’m a trained dance teacher — bringing creativity, movement, and confidence-building into children’s daily experiences. These varied roles have equipped me with a broad skill set and a deep understanding of how to nurture children of all personalities, abilities, and backgrounds.
My Qualifications
BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS – Qualified Teacher Status allowing me to teach across the primary age range, with a strong foundation in child development and curriculum planning.
• Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development – Practical and theoretical knowledge in supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and everyday care needs.
• Dance Teaching Experience – Trained and experienced in leading dance sessions, encouraging physical development, creativity, and confidence in children of all ages.
• Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Experience – Skilled in supporting children with diverse learning needs, promoting inclusion, and adapting provision to meet individual requirements.
• Currently preparing to begin a Master’s Degree in Social Work (starting September) – Furthering my commitment to supporting children and families in a deeper, more holistic way.
