Hi, I'm Mike. I am a qualified early years and social care practitioner, specialising in disabilities and additional support needs such as autism and complex care needs and have experience of managing and de-escalating extremely challenging behaviour.
I have worked for Barnardos Scotland helping children and young people who have learning disabilities and autism amongst other social care providers.
I also have early years experience from working across East Lothian in a variety of nurseries, and have frequently been asked to work specifically with children who need a little extra help and support.
I am SSSc registered and have an up to date PVG which you are more than welcome to view, along with my other relevant documents. My references are available upon request.
I am also a former Scout Leader for Callander 9th Scouts and I am passionate about supporting people to explore the outdoors in a safe manner and creatively overcome problems.

My Experience
I am experienced in providing a range of childcare services, from early years to teen, promoting development and growth of skills and supporting families with chores, cooking and anything else they may need assistance with.
In many cases, I have supported young people with additional needs who sometimes display challenging behaviour.
I am first aid qualified, pvg cleared, SSSC registered, and have a full clean driving licence with my own vehicle which can potentially be used for business purposes if required.
