About Me
I have been in the child care for the past 36 years. Firstly as a qualified SNNEB nanny and then as a registered childminder for the past 30 years.
I have decided I would like to go back to working within the child’s home environment as a Nanny and am looking for up to 16 hours a week possible 20 hours perhaps with one or two families depending on the hours required.
I have 4 children of my own 20years, 17 years, 15 years and 13 years of age.
I often get visits from both children and parents of children I have cared for in the past and they have described the care we offer as 'part of an extended family! Today in fact I had a visit from one of the mums of a baby I was nanny to 30 years ago.
Now the difficult part I recently became a below the knee amputee so I need a family who will not mind my disability. I have not had a prosthetic leg fitted yet but hopefully will by Christmas however I get around by my own means. For this reason much as I would love to nanny for a young baby this is not possible. Although having said that I know of a mum who was disabled and was amazing caring for her baby incase there are any disabled parents looking for a nanny for a baby and would trust me.
My Experience
I qualified as a SNNEB registered nanny then took on the role of a shared nanny after which I registered as a childminder 36 years on I’m still doing the job I love. However I have now decided to return to nannying after my recent amputation and need a family prepared to trust me car for their child.
My Qualifications
NNEB and a SCSWIS Registered Childminder. I have a First Aid certificate and have been on an advanced driving course.
My Availability
I am looking for a part time nanny position approx 16 to 20 hours a week in Edinburgh.

Ann has provided the most amazing care for our son Fynn over the last 15 months and we are truly devastated that he is unable to continue with her. He is happier than we could ever have wished for with her and we are so grateful for the way in which he was welcomed into their family. He is treated like one of her own and always looks forward to spending time with her and the children. The daily written reports are always full of outdoor activities and new adventures in and around Edinburgh, some of which I didn't know about!
Running my own business, I have found Ann's flexibility invaluable. She always tries to accommodate last minute requests and nothing is ever too much trouble. I am so lucky to have found Ann and I have no idea how I would have coped without her!
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Anne Loughton and your little ones really couldn't be in better care!!
Overall
Our little boy Ben was with Ann for 2 years. He was just under one when he started with Ann. The minute myself and my husband walked in we knew we had found 'the one'! We had been looking for months. Ann and her family have become the closest we have to family in Edinburgh. The care and love Ann provides is fantasic. Ben settled in so quickly and within no time he became part of the family. Ben really benefited from being around Ann's children and is great at playing with children his own age and older children as a result. Our little girl Katie is about to start with Ann and we're all looking forward to it!
