My Summary
About Me
I am a dedicated and experienced childcare professional with over 11 years of experience caring for children of various ages, from newborns to teenagers. I bring not only extensive practical knowledge but also a genuine love for working with children and supporting their development in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where they can truly thrive.
I am fluent in French, English, and Slovak, which allows me to support multilingual development and build strong relationships with international families. I am also Montessori trained, and I really value encouraging independence, confidence, and curiosity through gentle, child-led learning and respectful guidance.
My childcare journey began in France, in Corsica, where I worked as an au pair at the age of 22, caring for a 4-year-old girl. I then went on to work with a family with two young children, aged 1 and 4, while also regularly babysitting for a neighbour’s 3-year-old son. During this time, I often cared for multiple children at once, sometimes having sole charge of up to four children aged between 1 and 4. This experience helped me become very organised, adaptable, and confident in managing different routines and personalities.
I later moved to Grenoble, where I cared for a 3-year-old boy and his newborn brother. I initially worked alongside the mum, and then gradually transitioned into sole charge of both children, supporting their early development and daily routines. Alongside this, I also worked with a 4-year-old boy with special educational needs, sometimes caring for him on his own and other times together with his younger sibling. I also regularly babysit for another family looking after their little one who was just 3 months old when I started. In addition, I sometimes looked after their 2 boys aged 4 and 7.
After moving to the UK, I expanded my experience by working with a family of three boys aged 9, 13, and 15, which gave me valuable insight into supporting older children and teenagers. I then became a long-term nanny for a family with two children aged 11 months and 4 years, where I stayed for six years. It was a very rewarding role, as I was able to support both children through important developmental stages. When the youngest started Reception, I also began working in a nursery setting with children aged 3 to 5, further strengthening my early years experience.
Alongside my professional roles, I have always enjoyed being involved in volunteering. Since moving to the UK, I have volunteered at a Slovak weekend school in London, where I was later offered a role working with children aged 3 to 6. I have also volunteered within a Slovak Catholic mission, supporting children through activities and community events. In addition, I volunteered as a French tutor for children from disadvantaged backgrounds through an international programme, helping them build confidence and language skills. Before moving to the UK, I also volunteered in France teaching French to refugees, which was a very meaningful and rewarding experience for me.
My background includes both private nanny roles and nursery settings, where I have developed strong skills in planning age-appropriate and engaging activities, supporting developmental milestones, and maintaining structured yet flexible routines tailored to each child’s individual needs. I am reliable, patient, and caring, and I always make sure that children feel safe, happy, and encouraged to explore and learn at their own pace.
I am ideally looking to start a new role in August. By that time, my baby will be 9 months old, and I would love to find a family who would be happy for me to bring my baby with me. However, I am also open to part-time opportunities without my baby for the right family.
