Hello my name is Sarah, I’m 26 years old and live in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Originally I am from Essex but moved to Banbury a couple of years ago to be with my partner.
Over the 8 and half years that I worked in childcare i have been fortunate enough to work across many settings and in a variety of roles from nursery practitioner/ teaching assistant and 1 to 1 support to room leader and head of SEN at a private nursery and with a variety of ages from 6months to 12 years old.
Most recently i have changed career path slightly and Currently work in a local GP practice as a patient services deputy manager in Brackley, Northamptonshire

My Experience
I have 8 and half years experience working with children age 0-12 years. starting back when I first finished college at 16.
This experience has been part gained through college when achieving my level 3 in childcare, learning and development. Throughout my course I worked in primary schools and daycare settings helping children grow and develop at their own pace.
I have also worked in a nursery working and taking on different roles and responsibilities of a key practitioner to becoming a room leader. By being a room leader I took charge of 25/30 children’s learning and development and knowing where they are in their develop.
Following on from this role I then became lead senco which involved Ensuring a smooth onward transition and planning for moving on to school for Pre-school children and Working closely on a 1 to 1 basis with a little boy with severe autism and child development delay.
In 2019 I relocated to Banbury, Oxfordshire Where I became a KS1 Teaching assistant in a primary school located in Witney, Oxfordshire Where I gained an interest in interventions and 1 to 1 support. During this time COVID came along and my interests became something I could explore even more especially down the root of numbers skills and basic knowledge of maths for upper KS1 and lower KS2. I was able to offer extra support for the children at home during this time to support there additional needs via twice weekly zoom math call which were great as they were engaging and a chance for us to see them and them to us. I made the decision to leave this role back in the September of 2021 to explore new opportunities.
