About Me
Hey! I'm Eleanor, I am 25 years old. I am currently studying at Northumbria University and live in Gosforth so I am looking for some part time casual work. I am a very nurturing and caring person who loves to have fun with children, I am responsible and mature with experience taking care of children aged 3 months to 15 years old. I have lots of experience in all areas and I love to use my skills and qualities to make sure children are well cared for. I consider myself extremely organised and trustworthy and quite the perfectionist. I have excellent communication skills and also have experience using other forms of communication e.g. PECS and Makaton. I am a very active person and my favourite sport is football. I am an excellent helper for homework especially art projects! When not at home I love to travel the world with my friends making memories and experiences.
My Experience
For 5 years I worked as a classroom assistant in a special needs primary school. Here I worked with children aged 2-11, primarily within early years. This is a job I love, I find working with children is very rewarding!
I have also helped with respite care for a child with Autism. This included picking up and going on weekend adventures to give parents a break.
During spring/summer I work at a sleep away camp in the USA. Here I started as a general councillor living with children aged 6-11 as they came to camp for 8 weeks. I have also been a nanny, taking care of the camp directors boys one 3 years old and one 5 months old. Most recently a 2 year old. Summer Camp is something I am very passionate about and I consider it my home away from home.
I have had a few years experience in babysitting itself. Often staying over at family friends houses to take care of their children whilst parents go out for the night. I am also a day time and evening babysitter for local families and people in my area.
