My Requirements

Hello! We are a fun and friendly family located in Hampstead, NW3.

We are looking for an experienced carer to look after our son, who is 7, from 11.45 - 5pm each Saturday. He is autistic and entirely non-verbal. He likes outdoor play, trees, nature, going swimming (although he can't swim he adores bobbing about in a pool!), soft plays, farms and libraries and really appreciates just being with one adult. He is fine travelling on any public transport or in a car. He has no physical issues, his mobility is fine and he doesn't take any medication.

This role is part paid for by Camden council who grant us a package of care called Short Breaks. This means they will pay you monthly for your Saturday shifts, and we will top it up to a competitive salary. This is totally above board, by the way - we checked! It also means NI, pension etc gets covered for you.

Our little boy is a lovely soul and essentially gentle, but it is important that his carers / nannies are confident with children with additional needs. He communicates using his hands (not Makaton) as he can point or lead you in a direction, and he can also use a communication book to a limited degree. He can get upset and frustrated. He is very popular with TAs at school as he can be very charming and he's quite affectionate too!

The job would involve picking him up either from our house or the dance class he goes to two doors down, and taking him out for the day. We provide a packed lunch.

I am happy to provide references about us as employers from our previous nannies if this would be of interest.
