I have always wanted to work with children. Even from a young age, I use to pretend to have my own nursery! I then carried this aspiration on and joined a nursery. I worked closely with children aged 3-5 in the Preschool room. I observed and helped these children grow by setting them activities and tasks depending of their current stage of development. I grew great friendships and bonds with these children which created it a great environment for learning. I worked with this age for 2 years and then wanted to further my knowledge and skills and worked with children aged 0-2 in the baby room. I worked closely with children in developing their basic needs and supporting families during an important time of their child’s life.

I was a nanny for 3 lovely children ranging from 6months - 3 years. I took the kids on adventures to help create imagination and support their learning. We do sit down activities but also have a lot of free play for them to share their current interest which I can then develop to help their learning in relation to the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. It is great when the children can relay the fun and things they did in the day with me, to their parents, with great excitement.

I have worked within a residential children’s home for children who have experience extreme trauma and undergoing my social worker degree.
