About Me

Hello my name is Olivia and I am 26 years old. I have been working as a live in nanny for a 14 year old boy who has global delay and other needs. I have also been with his siblings 8 and 12. However, I am looking for a new nannying role as they do not need me anymore. I now have lots of experience of babysitting, preparing sports bags, children’s meals and medication. My last working day is the 15th
Of October

I worked in a working Nursery school in Ascot based in the baby room and preschool. I do enjoy it there but I am looking for further job opportunities.

I feel my experience at the nursery has given me a lot more younger baby experience and more experience working with the EYFS. I worked Monday to Friday working 40 hours a week.

My nursery job role includes:
Preparing bottle for the babies
Carrying out sleeptime routines
Preparing and carrying out activities such as shaving foam, gloop and painting etc.
Changing nappies
Doing laundry
Dressing routines
Going out for walks, going out to the park and the garden
Observations and assessments
Group time
Hoovering, mopping, changing beds, taking out the bins, cleaning the kitchen, preparing snack and tea.
Song time
Lots of tidying up
Cleaning toys
Washing up
Emptying the dishwasher
Playing with the children and comforting them
Sterilising dummies

My Experience

Childcare jobs:
live in nanny
date started January 2019
Finished : late December 2020

I nannied for a family of triplets, they were 2.5 years old and one has additional needs. I worked 40 hours a week 8:45am -5:30pm. Monday to Friday. I helped the mother with the toddler’s daily routines. This included playing with the children, doing activities with them, helping with feeds and meal preparation . I also did lots of one to one care with the disabled child and gave him his daily medication. I helped him and encouraged him to play with his toys.
I also help helped nap time routines. I also did some general housekeeping throughout the day. e.g the laundry, dishwasher, cleaning surfaces etc. I change nappies, take the children for walks, helped with shopping lists, garden time and I change the children’s clothes . I tidied up the toys and tidy up and clear away after meal times .
In addition to this I had been providing an educational environment for the children which included helping them with their speech and language, to learn their letters, colours, numbers and shapes. I enjoyed helping them learn their letters by using letter magnets, large letter puzzle pieces and by vocally teaching them. I tended to use building blocks and playdough to help them learn their colours and shapes.

Early Years Educator - Busy Bees Nursery
Chippenham, Wiltshire Bath Road, SN14 0BJ
Start date: 21st September 2018
Finish date: 8th November 2019

I was a early years educator within a nursey. As an early years educator, I assisted with the day to day care of children within the setting and tracked their learning and development. I changed nappies, assisted with meal times, read to them, carried out activities and helped with nap time routines. I sang-to children and comforted them. I had 7 key children and I carried out observations’ fortnightly on them and planned activities for them each week. I worked in the baby room for 7 months and then moved to the toddler room for the remainder of my time there. I also worked in the preschool room sometimes aswell.
Working at this nursery has enabled me to have the ability to work under pressure and to work in a fast pace environment. It has increased my independence skills and has given me lots of responsibilities. It has also allowed me to explore my creative side by doing arts and crafts with the children and bringing in and preparing activities for the children to enjoy. Such as homemade playdough and ice activities. This job has been very worthwhile as it has given me so much experience with children. It has shown how much I love working with children.
