I enjoy art, drawing and painting, gardening, holidaying in Britain and abroad and spending time with my family, our dog and socialising with friends.
In 2007 I attended night classes at West Lothian College where I qualified as nail care/technician and in depilation. This was purely for my own interest. I have attended a British Red Cross First Aid course, albeit many years ago and was the first aider in the office. Subsequently I have attended paediatric first aid courses. I was involved with the local toddler group when my children were young and also volunteered in the local primary school and was instrumental in the setting up and running of the healthy school tuck shop.
When growing up I spent school holidays in East Africa and South America where my parents were living and have a basic knowledge of Spanish which comes in handy when holidaying! I consider myself very fortunate to have had the experiences of living abroad and have a deep understanding of different cultures.
I worked initially in office based roles, but I was never truly settled and when the opportunity to work as a Nanny presented itself I jumped at the offer. I have never looked back and only wish I’d done it sooner! In all my employments, I have proven myself to be a reliable and trustworthy employee able to deal accordingly with sensitive or confidential matters. I am able to use my own initiative and follow instruction. I consider myself to be a kind, caring, pleasant, friendly, articulate person with good communication skills and always willing to take on a new challenge and adapt accordingly.
My Experience
I love working with children and all the activities that go hand in hand with them – toddler groups, organising classes, visits to the park/zoo/library, swimming, crafting/painting, imaginary play, baking, reading stories, music, play dates, helping with homework and the like. It’s lovely to watch them develop and we have some very interesting conversations as they progress into speech! I use song and repetition to help with speech and memory skills. I was always very involved with my own children and loved each stage of their journey into adulthood. I have recent experience with new-borns, toddlers and older children, covering weaning, teething, walking, toilet training, sleep patterns, starting school, assisting with homework and dealing with variable behavioural and dietary needs. It’s a very fulfilling job where you not only have the opportunity to bond with the children but also form lasting relationships with the whole family. I’ve been very fortunate with my employers who I consider extensions to my own family and enjoy frequent updates about their lives, progress and achievements of the children.
I have experience of children with food allergies and dyslexia. Every child and family are individual, no two days are ever the same. That’s what I love about being a Nanny!
My first employment as a Nanny was for a family with 4 children, of whom I had sole charge. I was with them for almost 5 years.
I have since been with my current family for almost 13 years. It’s been a joy and a privilege to be part of their lives and form close bonds with all the family.
The hours have changed over the years and I have worked for a number of different families since Covid on Mondays and Tuesdays, with children of varying ages and needs.
Most recently a family with a 2 year old and a new born, sadly they emigrated in September, hence I have availability Mon/Tuesdays. ?

I am the mother of two well balanced adult children. I have attended paediatric first aid courses and have over 16 years of experience as an employed nanny.
I am a member of The Disclosure Scotland Scheme, fully PVG checked.
I process a clean drivers licence, own my own vehicle with business insurance.
In all my employments I have proven myself to be a kind, caring, reliable, trustworthy employee.
My Availability
I am currently only available on Mondays and Tuesdays. Looking two or one full day, minimum of 8 hours per week.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £16.50 per hour
- Nannying from £17.00 per hour (gross)
I am paid through nanny tax. My employer provides a monthly payslip noting NI and tax payments and contributes to my pension. Annual review and increment.
I claim mileage at 55p per mile and any costs incurred on outings for my charges.
