About Me
I enjoy art, drawing and painting, gardening, holidaying in Britain and abroad and spending time with my family, our dog and socialising with friends. I’m very fortunate to still have my Father who is in his 90's and spend a lot of time with him.
In 2007 I attended night classes at West Lothian College where I qualified as nail care/technician and in depilation. This was purely for my own interest. I have attended a British Red Cross First Aid course, albeit many years ago and was the first aider in the office. I have attended a paediatric first aid course. I was involved with the local toddler group when my children were younger and also volunteered in the local primary school and was instrumental in the setting up and running of the healthy school tuck shop.
When growing up I spent school holidays in East Africa and South America where my parents were living and have a basic knowledge of Spanish which comes in handy when holidaying! I consider myself very fortunate to have had the experiences of living abroad and have a deep understanding of different cultures.
I worked initially in office based roles, but I was never truly settled and when the opportunity to work as a Nanny presented itself I jumped at the offer. I have never looked back. In all my employments, I have proven myself to be a reliable and trustworthy employee able to deal accordingly with sensitive or confidential matters. I am able to use my own initiative and follow instruction. I consider myself to be a kind, caring, pleasant, friendly, articulate person with good communication skills and always willing to take on a new challenge.
My Experience
I love working with children and all the activities that go hand in hand with them – toddler groups, organising classes, visits to the park/zoo/library, swimming, crafting/painting, baking, reading stories, music, play dates and the like. It’s lovely to watch them develop and we have some very interesting conversations as they progress into speech! I use song and repetition to help with speech and memory learning. I was always very involved with my own children and loved each stage of their journey into adulthood. I have experience with new-borns, toddlers and older children, covering weaning, teething, walking, toilet training, sleep patterns, starting school and variable behavioural displays-! It’s a very fulfilling job where you not only have the opportunity to bond with the children but also form lasting relationships with the whole family. I’ve been very fortunate with my employers who I consider extensions to my own family and enjoy frequent updates about their lives and the progress and achievements of their children. I have worked with children with food allergies and dyslexia.

Although I have no formal childcare qualifications I am the mother of two well balanced children. I have attended paediatric first aid courses and have over 10years of employed nanny experience.
In all my employments I have proven myself to be a kind, caring, reliable, trustworthy employee.
My Availability
Due to my own children being older, I am flexible and now able to work hours to suit my employer - fixed and extra hours.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
- Nannying from £14.00 per hour (gross)
I am paid through nanny tax. My employer provides a monthly payslip and contributes to my pension.
