About Me
Hi, I live on the Docks in Preston.
I am offering children a stimulating, caring and safe home, where they can come to learn, and have great fun. I provide lots of natural resources and resources that provoke children's imagination.
I lived with my partner for 26 years.
I encourage outdoor play everyday. We have an allotment where we visit regularly to grow our own fruit and vegetables. We live visits to the woods and parks.I have a very well behaved dog, she is a black labrador, She can have as little or as much contact with the children as you wish.
My Experience
I am fully Ofsted registered. I received Outstanding in all areas at my last inspection.
I have completed all the relevant training courses including First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding.
As a parent myself I can offer a safe and stimulating home. Where parents can feel assured that their child is being cared for.
My Qualifications
I have completed the pre-registration courses, First Aid, Food Hygiene level 2, and Safeguarding level 1 and 2.
I also have a Level 2 in Care.
My Availability
I have a vacancy for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from September 2025.
I offer the funding for 9 months to 23 months, 2 years old and 3/4 years.

I was a little bit wary sending my baby to somebody I didnt know, I had never done this before and dont know anything about childcare. I went to see a couple of childcare places and wasnt sure until we met Karen. Karen is very welcoming and lovely, my daughter Ember-Rose loves going to her and always looks very happy when she is around her. I love coming home to see photographs of what new things she has been learning, or where they have been, what she's eaten. I love seeing the diary she writes every week, it just makes it so personal. Ive never been so comfortable sending my child to Karen. Ember-Rose has learned so much since being around Karen and I would always recommend her.

After searching for Nursery's around this area I came home and cried, I realised that's not how I want my 8month old son to spend 8 hours a day 4 days a week!!! Then we found Karen. Amazing home from home setting, genuine love and care for all the children, quality time spent with them reading etc, fun activities set up everyday, days out to parks and the zoo, healthy meals and snacks...the list is endless. We couldn't be happier thank you so much :)

Karen offered a great service when looking after my little boy from 9 months to 2 years. Her activities are varied including educational and creative crafts and tasks, plenty of indoor and outdoor play including trips to the park, nature walks and attending various toddler groups allowing the children in her care to mix with other children. I met Karen at a toddler group and watched her interact with the children in her care which made the decision to use Karen as child minder to my son really easy.
We received lovely handmade gifts on mother's day and Christmas etc and also a very detailed learning journal and a daily diary keeping me informed of my child's day and learning.
She offers healthy and nutritious meals and snacks.
All in all excellent childcare providing a broad range of activities to keep little hands and inquisitive minds busy. if it wasn't for moving out the area my son would still be there now!
