About Me

Hello my name is Najma an OFSTED registered childminder.
My last inspection was in September 2021 and graded good
I have been a registered childminder for the past 26 years, having 3 adult children of my own.
I reside in a semi-detached four-bedroom Victorian house in the London Borough of Merton.
My family are very supportive toward my profession and enjoy having children in the Chaudhry household.
I have undertaken various courses to support my profession. I live with my husband a Civil Engineer.
My elder son a Computer Analyst working for a law firm in central London, having graduated from Kingston University in July 2013.
My eldest daughter is a qualified Teacher, married and lives Leicester.
My youngest son having undertaken an Honors' Degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of Surrey works for Amazon Robotics’.
I live near to local toddler groups, soft play, and childminders’ drop-in group, library, parks and tube stations. The whole of the ground floor including a spacious conservatory is used for childminding. There is a fully enclosed and secure 85 ft. garden for outdoor play.
We have a pedigree family cat, Snowy a Chinchilla Persian. There is a large fish tank, which amuses and relaxes the children to no end.
I am registered to care for six children under eight years at any one time, of whom three may be in the early years age group.
I currently care for two children under five on a part-time basis.
I am registered on the Early Years Register and both the compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register.
I believe the overall quality of the provision is very good. The children I mind are progressing well in their learning and development overall, through a balanced range of resources and play materials that are both interesting and challenging.
I promote an inclusive practice that works well and foster excellent partnership with parents and others. I am fully aware my strengths and weaknesses through accurate self-evaluation. This helps promote quality of children's welfare and ensure continuous improvement is maintained. I have variety of educational toys, books, puzzles, to help children develop and stimulate through play.
I promote children’s learning and development through planned indoor and outdoor activities. I regularly take children to the local library children centres, plan trips to Dean City Farm, outings to feed the birds and walks to parks.
I have child minded children from various ethnic backgrounds: including English, Nepalese, South African, French, Africa, Greek. I have always been interested about different nationalities, their customs, rich traditions, and celebrations and encouraged children in my care to do the same. Children in my care learn about different cultures and beliefs by celebrating events such as Eid, Diwali, Christmas, and Chinese New Year.
I can present all the certificates and references for review when parents come for visit.
I accept all Childcare vouchers.
I am Registered for free childcare entitlement funding for 2, 3 and 4 years old.

My Experience

A registered childminder for the past 26 years, I have excellent references on file.
I recognise parents’ participation is invaluable in assisting me in providing support for their child’s needs. I am open to their suggestions, which I use as feedback to plan for the day’s activities, which will be fun and educational at the same time.
I undertake a wide range of outdoor activities; the children in my care have safe access to my garden where we undertake different activities e.g., pretend painting the fence with water. Playing with sand, water, pretend mowing of the lawn, running, jumping, playing cricket, football, playing with cars, scooter, tricycle etc.
My minded children are able to choose freely activities and resources that I have available. Children are able to choose from a broad range of interesting resources and enjoy a balance of indoor and outdoor play. The good ranges of resources reflect diversity and raise children's knowledge about disability.
I make learning an enjoyable experience for the children in my care and regularly praise the child on their achievements.
Praising the child will ensure that they have a positive attitude towards learning and development.
I observe the child to see that they can work independently or as part of a team.
That the children are kind and caring towards each other and are aware of the concept of sharing.
As a professional I have high expectations of what each child can achieve, including the most able and the most disadvantaged.
I use expert knowledge of the areas of learning and deep understanding of how children learn to provide rich, varied and imaginative experiences that enthuse, engage and motivate children to learn.
Accurate assessment, including through observations, is rigorous and sharply focused and includes all involved in the child’s learning and development.
Where appropriate, I ensure children are involved in the process. Information from assessment is used to secure timely interventions and support, based on a comprehensive knowledge of the child and their family.
Provision across all areas of learning is planned meticulously and based on regular and precise assessments of children’s achievement so that every child undertakes highly challenging activities.
I provide a range of resources and activities that reflect and value the diversity of children’s experiences. They actively challenge gender, cultural and racial stereotyping and help children gain an understanding of people, families and communities beyond their immediate experience.
As a professional, I teach basics concepts well and support children to learn the communication and language skills and develop the physical, personal, social and emotional skills they need for the next steps in their learning. Where appropriate, early literacy skills and mathematical development are promoted effectively to ensure that children are ready for school.
I provide a wide range of opportunities for children to learn about people and communities beyond their immediate experience. Resources and activities reflect and value the diversity of children’s backgrounds and experiences.
