About Me

WANTED Ofsted-Registered Nanny / Family Helper (Part-Time, Afternoons, term time only)

We’re a relaxed, busy family looking for a lovely Ofsted-registered nanny to join our after-school routine a few afternoons a week and help keep life ticking along smoothly.

About the kids
We have two children — one in Reception and one in Year 3 — who are bright, chatty, funny and a bit feral in the way all good kids are after a long day at school. They’re kind, curious, and respond best to calm adults with a sense of humour.

Our parenting style is gentle and respectful, firm where it matters, low-shout and high-snack, and very much “connection first, perfection never”. After school is about decompression, not pressure — snacks, fresh air, chats, and chilling out.

About the dog
We also have a friendly dog who needs picking up and walking. Dog walks are usually done with the children, so you’ll need to be comfortable with kids, dog, and fresh air in most weather.

Hours
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and alternate Fridays.
2.30pm – 5.45pm.
(Some flexibility on Fridays depending on childcare needs.)
Term time only.

The role (childcare first, with some household help)
Your main responsibility is after-school childcare, but we’re also looking for someone happy to help keep the house ticking over while the children are relaxing.

This includes washing up or loading and unloading the dishwasher, laundry (washing, folding, and putting away), and general tidying and resetting communal areas. This is not deep cleaning and not about perfection — more “keeping on top of the chaos” so evenings start calm rather than frantic.

All household tasks are done while supervising the children, not instead of caring for them.

About you
You must be Ofsted registered.
You’ll have experience with Reception and primary-aged children.
You’ll be calm, reliable, and warm.
You’ll be comfortable around dogs.
You’ll be happy with a mixed childcare and family-helper role and unbothered by a bit of mess, able to gently restore order.

Pay
£18–£20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

The important bit
We’re not looking for someone to run a perfect household or parent in a way that doesn’t feel authentic. We’re looking for someone kind, capable and steady who understands family life, after-school meltdowns, and the magic of a well-timed snack.

If this sounds like your kind of household, we’d love to hear from you.
