About Me

I am a former English teacher who has now decided to take care of children in my own home. I feel that the skills and experience that I have acquired as a teacher helps me to work alongside parents to develop children in a caring home environment. I love seeing children make progress and build confidence. I decided to childmind as I wanted to be able to see my own children off to school in the mornings, as I had always left before them while teaching- as well as continue utilising my love for child development and childcare. I enjoy creating a happy and fun environment where children can enjoy themselves and build positive memories. My own children are aged 21 17 14 and 5 so I am experienced in a range of ages and needs. After parenting my own children and working as a teacher for six years I am aware that all children are individuals and I enjoy employing different strategies to suit individual needs.

My Experience

I am a mother of four children. I have taken a level 3 course in home based childcare and I have paediatric first aid. I also have undertaken safeguarding each year for the past five years. I have had a consistent flow of children and have parent references available upon request.

English and comparative literature BA hons
