About Me

I am a kind, calm, caring experienced early years practitioner who is passionate about the importance of positive early years experiences for young children and the benefits of learning through play, fun, discovery and exploration. I am also reliable and conscientious with a good sense of humour. I have an Early years BA Hons degree, a foundation degree as well as an Early Years NVQ3. I am a qualified Forest School Leader and as such believe in the value of children's contact with nature. I belong to the DBS update service.

My Experience

I have many years of childcare experience from birth onwards, through raising my own two sons and working in Ofsted registered children's nurseries and children's centres in roles ranging from nursery practitioner, outdoor learning co-ordinator and nursery manager. I have also provided after school care for a parent via childcare.co.

My Qualifications

I have a BA honours (1st) and foundation degree in 'working with children and young people', a level 3 NVQ in 'early years care and education', a CACHE level 4 in 'the management of quality standards in children's services', a qualified Forest School Leader and have undertaken numerous child and safety related training and development courses, including safeguarding, first aid, Epipen, and Forest School. I also hold a foundation certificate in health and safety in the workplace. I have a current DBS and a paediatric first aid certificate.
