About Me
My name is Emma and I live with my fiancé, Andy and our two children, Chloe (13) and Adalyn (1). We also live with our cat, Kaly, guinea pig, Thistle and giant African snail, Simba!
After the birth of my daughter I decided it was time to register as a childminder.
Ladybird Explorers childminding - Fauldhouse caters for babies up to 16 years. Opening times are from 7am to 6pm. Flexible hours are available and care is offered for full days, before/after school, and school holidays. I am happy to provide term-time only care also, should it be available. Children can be dropped off and collected from the local primary schools which are a 15-minute walk or 5-minute drive. Outings/snacks are also included in the hourly rate e.g., soft play, farms, and events etc. Weekend care can be provided. I am a food operating business meaning lunch and dinner can be provided should you wish. Meals are an additional £2 per meal.
I offer a warm and welcoming home-from-home environment where your child(ren) will experience a range of indoor and outdoor activities. Planning of learning and play is based on the children's interests and personal likes, all of which is age and stage appropriate. Activities range from gooey messy play, crafting and imaginative role play. I strive that the children feel free to relax, play and explore. Outdoor learning is an area I am passionate about and so a lot of time and activities are on offer in my spacious back garden, local country parks and the surrounding community.
It is important that both yourself and your child(ren) feel happy and settled in my care service. Prior to care commencing, I offer a welcome and settle visit to allow your child(ren) to explore the service and to discus and answer any questions you may have.

My Experience
I have eight years experience working with children. This includes in the out-of-school care sector caring for primary aged children as both a practitioner and then club manager. I then moved into school nurseries, where I worked closely providing nurture, care and learning for 2-5 year olds. During this time I completed a Post Graduate degree in Childhood Practice and undertook management training. I then became an Equity and Excellence Lead where my primary role was to work alongside the nursery manager and practitioners to train and deliver high quality literacy interventions in order to help record and improve the level of attainment within the setting. My practice was also shared across West Lothian and Falkirk nurseries. During this time I worked with outside professionals including Speech and Language and Health Visitors in developing and implementing literacy programmes. I also completed a Froebel training course through Edinburgh University where I was able to further develop my understanding developing children’s learning through the natural world, loose parts, independence and the natural world.

Training also includes: Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid, Managing Challenging Behaviour, Children with Additional Support Needs, English as an Additional Language, Adverse Childhood Experiences and so on.

- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
Am and pm snacks and outings are included in fees. Meals can be provided at an additional £2 per meal.
