Hello and welcome to Bright Buttons Childcare! My name is Gemma, and I am an Ofsted-registered childminder with 5 years of experience in providing high-quality care and education for young children. My Experience
I have 5 years of experience providing high-quality childcare as an Ofsted-registered childminder. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Home-based Childcare and am currently working towards my CACHE Level 3 in Childcare, continuously expanding my skills and knowledge through ongoing professional development. Additionally, I am fully Paediatric First Aid trained, ensuring I am well-prepared to handle any emergency while prioritising your child’s safety.
Before becoming a childminder, I worked in community and end-of-life care, which has greatly influenced my approach to childcare. In these roles, I developed a deep sense of compassion, empathy, and the ability to provide care under pressure. These experiences taught me how to support individuals with diverse needs, communicate effectively with families, and maintain a calm and professional demeanour in sensitive situations.
These skills have been invaluable in my childminding carer, where building trusting relationships with children and their families is essential. My background in care also helps me ensure a safe, supportive environment where every child feels understood and respected, and I am able to handle any situation with patience and care. The strong communication skills I gained are also key in working collaboratively with parents to meet the individual needs of each child.
My Qualifications
I am a fully qualified childminder with a Level 3 qualification in Home-based Childcare. In addition, I hold a FAA Level 3 in Safeguarding Children, Paediatric First Aid certification, and a Level 2 in Food Hygiene. I also have an enhanced DBS check and am ICO certified, ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
I have recently completed an Early Years Development Program and am currently studying to complete my CACHE Level 3 in Childcare. I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure I provide the highest standard of care for every child.
