About Me
In our house we have Mum, Dad, a 4 year old son, a 6 year old daughter with autism and 2 guinea pigs.
We are a Christian family with Christian values.
We love to be outside but also have quality time as a family playing games and reading books.
Our children both love reading, playing board games, anything active, playing dress up and imagination games. Our son also loves all vehicles, and our daughter loves colouring and arts & crafts.
They both love science experiments, baking, sensory play and making mud pies.
Our daughter has autism and has very specific needs. She is less able to cope with change/unexpected situations than other children and can become dysregulated very quickly. She needs someone who is able to ignore the bad behaviour and see it for what it is - a little girl trying to communicate that she feels out of control. She needs patience and kindness, and humour always goes a long way!
We try not 'discipline' in the usual way in our home. We sit together and work everything out as a team so that the children know it is OK to make mistakes and that we will support them in fixing whatever mistake they have made. All of us get involved in helping with cheering each other up.
Our job as parents is to prepare our children for the rest of their lives and so we try, where possible, to include them in all parts of our lives as adults including chores, gardening, cooking and fixing things as well as empowering them to make their own decisions (such as what we eat for dinner, what we have for snacks, what we do with our time) warning them of consequences but allowing them to make mistakes.
We try to do everything as a team.
My Requirements

- patient, compassionate and emotionally aware
- experience of babysitting/nannying
- able to cook simple meals
- willing to listen to parent's instructions which will likely include: play games, watch TV, do not attempt to bathe them or get them ready for bed.
Dad works shifts until 7pm and Mum works with teenagers so she is out some evenings in the week.
We are looking for a babysitter to help out irregularly on Fridays and Sundays with a shift pattern of 4 on and 4 off. The hours can be given months in advance but will be a start between 3pm and 6pm, always ending at 7pm.
