Hi there! I'm Monica, a 21-year-old, originally from Kent, England. I spent most of my gap year in Madrid as an AuPair for two children (B4, G6). I am half Spanish, and speak it nearly fluently so if you wish I could speak to your children in Spanish or help them to learn it. I am sporty, confident, warm and friendly with a love for looking after children. I am in my second year at Edinburgh university studying Health in Social Science. I study Spanish on the side, and I play netball as much as I can. I am reliable, hard working, and friendly. I hope to meet you and your family soon!

My Experience
-2014 to 2018: worked at a KUMON tuition centre, helping children with maths and english. Most of the time was aiding children with mild learning difficulties. I did this every week and it tested my time management skills whilst balancing other commitment such as GCSEs and playing for the 1st netball time at school.
- I have babysat since I was 15 years old, until I could drive it was an ad-hoc sort of job. I passed my driving test in April 2019 and since then I babysat most weekends, for many hours. I got a job for a family with six children in February last year and did driving for them most days of the week to and from activities etc.
-September 2020 to June 2021: AuPair in Madrid. Essentially I moved to a city I had never been before, moved in with a family I had never met before and looked after their children for 5-8 hours everyday. The family consists of a divorced mother who has a demanding full time job and two loving and energetic young children. I speak most of the time to the family in Spanish but sometimes teach the children english.
-Summer 2021: Working for two families who have a background of Spanish. This involved babysitting, light housework, errand running, driving the children to and from activities and nannying (whilst speaking to one family's children in Spanish).
-September 2021-December 2021: Babysat weekly for a family with 5 boys (3-11yrs). I helped them in the means of doing dinner time, reading them stories, playing with them and putting them all to bed on my own. I had to manage the 3yo who had severe separation anxiety from the mother; which got much better as the weeks progressed. I have an excellent reference from this family; available upon request. Stopped because they moved back to the U.S.

My Availability
Actively looking for ad hoc babysitting/nannying for the Summer holidays. I will spend most my Summer at home in Sevenoaks but will also come up to Edinburgh for a short while. I am happy to do wedding/event and hotel babysitting. I also don't mind doing lifts (I have a car), laundry and light housework and cooking.
