About Me
We are an Australian / English family with one child
My Requirements
Looking for a live-out after school nanny for our vivacious 7yo daughter. Start September 2026 (Grade 3) with availability for settling in dates during late July - August.
Hours: Mon-Fri
Timings to be confirmed 3:30pm Pickup from school near Notting-hill in September (nearest Tube Stations: Notting Hill Gate) and home based in Queens Park (closest tubes Queens Park, Kensal Rise)
Generally 9:00pm finish
There is some flexibility around these hours on a case by case basis.
There is expected to be some variance in the hours across the week to take into account after school activities etc. We will require flexibility to stay after 9pm with notice as both parents work. Availability to assist in the mornings with school drop-offs and on weekends on an ad hoc basis would be much appreciated due to demanding work schedules for both parents.
Duties will include pickup, organising and taking her to after school activities, preparing dinner, supervising homework, ensuring her toys / room are tidy, and managing her school time schedule. Maintaining her social life is very important so the ability to liaise with other Nannies and plan play dates is essential as she moves to her new school in September.
We would like the nanny to be responsible for all nursery duties including laundry (in particular to ensure clean uniform) and to pack her materials ready for the next day, in particular around extra-curricular activities. As well as fostering everyday skills such as independence, resilience, manners and responsibility.
Our daughter is a very bright and happy child with a passion for books, a vivid imagination and adventurous nature so the right candidate will be organised have lots of energy and enthusiasm; enjoyment for spending time outdoors would be a big plus. Some of her interests at the moment are rollercoaster and theme parks, Harry Potter, craft activities, How to Train Your Dragon and Swimming.
Our last nanny was with us for about 1.5 years and the one before that for 4 years we have a wonderful relationship with both of them (she is sadly moving on to non-childcare related endeavours) so we would like someone who is focused on a longer-term position.
Other traits which will be considered favourably (but none of these are considered essential for the right candidate)
- Driving licence / own car as it can be easier for the school pick up and to get to activities (an allowance is available)
- Ability to speak either Spanish or Mandarin Chinese
- Ad hoc availability for babysitting on weekends
- Ability to tutor piano or singing
