About Me
My name is Turid and I run Coltsfoot Outdoors, a childminding setting inspired by Forest School, Scandinavian early learning principles and nature pedagogy.
I operate mainly outdoors, in the garden, local woodlands or (where restrictions allow) further afield.
I take inspiration from the Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Curiosity learning approaches, and have a focus on real-life activities, practical skills and inquiry-based learning.
In my day-to-day activities I aim to foster your child's sense of nature connection and appreciation, curiosity, creativity, confidence and self-esteem.
I love being part of your child's life, following their learning journeys and building strong, long-lasting relationships with you and them.
My Experience
Early years practitioner with more than decade's experience working in private and local authority early years sector.
Previously part of the team behind one of Scotland's leading early years settings.
Qualified Forest School leader and experience as an outdoor learning coordinator.
Neurodiversity-affirming practitioner
My Qualifications
HNC Early Education and Childcare.
BA Childhood Practice.
Forest School leader.
First Aid certified (paediatric and outdoors)
My Availability
Wednesday to Friday 7:30-18:00.
My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
£5/hour, charged in arrears at the end of each month, for hours used only.
Cooked meals £2/lunch or dinner, £3 for both. Breakfast and snacks included.
My Local Schools
