About Me
Hi there! I’m an enthusiastic, energetic 23 year old who loves spending time with children, especially in the outdoors. I work in the charity sector supporting young people and have prior experience of nannying for a family with 3 children ages 4-11. I have a keen passion for social justice and equality, creativity and imagination and spending lots of time outdoors
I am currently looking for part time work, whether that ad hoc childcare or on a more regular basis (no more than 8 hours a week). I am flexible and reliable, and hope to build a strong, communicative relationship with the families I support. Also I adore animals so would be more than happy to look after pets as well!
My Experience
I have spent 8 months as a nanny for 3 children, providing flexible support on a weekly basis which included school pickups, days out, homework help, cooking and lots of playing!
I also have 3 years of experience in the care sector as a Wellbeing Assistant, travelling to people’s homes to help with daily tasks and personal care. Whilst this is not with children, I feel that this experience has developed my abilities to look after vulnerable people in a patient and empathetic manner.
I’ve looked after my young cousins (between the ages of 3 and 10) frequently, including overnights. During summer holidays I have cared for both my cousins and children of family friends, organising games and preparing food whilst their parents were at work.
Additionally, I worked as a KUMON maths and English tutor.
And when i’m not working I love befriending children, whether that be through a smile, a funny face or a little chat. I think it’s so important to show our youth that the world can be a friendly place too!
My Qualifications
I have a Forest School Qualification and whilst I don’t have any qualifications in childcare, I believe my practical experience with children of different ages to be extremely valuable. I have a degree in International Development.
In my new role working with young people I will be undertaking First Aid training. I am trained in Child Protection and I have an up-to-date DBS check.
My Availability
I work Monday-Thursday in Bath, usually around 9-5. So I can help out on consistently on Fridays, sometimes on weekends and the occasional midweek evening. I can do overnights but I would prefer to get to know the family a bit first.
