About Me
Updated profile 14 May 2026:
Hello, thank you very much for reading. (To be updated more fully shortly, our original edits were lost)
We are a family in E11 looking for a 4-day, Monday-Thursday nanny to start
late August or early September 2026, working in our home beside Wanstead Park and close to Leytonstone/Wanstead. Ideally within the hours of 8.30am-5.45pm - to care for our baby twins and to collect our older (6.5y and 4.5y) children from school and clubs in the afternoon.
We are flexible on start date and set up for the right candidate so please get in touch if this is you - more details below.
We live very close to Aldersbrook tennis club in a house with a large garden for play, and have four children: baby twins born June 2025, a 6 year old and a 4 year old - our son will be starting Year 2 in Sept and our daughter in Reception. We are a warm, loving, busy family looking for a nanny to work with us on a long-term basis in a secure, stimulating nanny role.
The role is primarily sole charge of our twin babies (soon to be toddlers), born June 2025) - 28 hours of a approx. 37 hr week - plus collection and supervision of older two children from 3.20 or 4.40pm from Aldersbrook Primary or local after school clubs. We will offer an enhanced rate for the time the older children are in your care to reflect the increased duties in those hours. None of the children have additional needs.
We live very close to Aldersbrook tennis club, Wanstead Park and Wanstead Flats- our closest tube stops are Leytonstone and Wanstead and we are on several bus routes (w19, 101, 308).
We are hoping for:
- A warm, caring, reliable nanny with plenty of initiative.
- experienced at preparing simple, healthy meals and designing activities for toddlers and children in the home and out and about.
- Strong communication.
- Bonus would be experience caring for twins but not essential.
-Driving licence would be a bonus but not essential.
Role would entail:
- Sole charge of twins, including feeding, changing, simple lunch and dinner preparation
- Taking twins to weekly baby class and on local excursions (library, park, classes, occasional day trips)
- Collection and care for older children (Y2 and reception) from school or clubs and bring home or to a club (tennis, which is opposite the house)(in the period 3.20/4.40pm - 5.45pm)
- Prep and serve dinner for children between 5 and 5.45.
We offer
- Competitive gross salary/hourly rate, negotiable based on experience, with enhanced rate for the periods all children are in your care
- Contribution to professional development (eg training, first aid refreshers)
- Work environment in a welcoming, spacious family home and garden close to Wanstead Park/ flats with good Central line and bus links
We are particularly interested to hear from you if you have directly comparable experience, but the most important thing is that we are a good fit for one another and we can provide what you are looking for in a family and an employer.
We previously had a full time nanny for our son (a nanny share) and an afterschool nanny who was with us for 3 years. We really valued the relationship we formed with each- we know the importance and value of great caregivers, the situation needing to work for everyone involved and to involve enough professional development and stimulation for you.
We are very happy to put you in touch with our previous nannies if and to discuss development opportunities and training (e.g. paediatric first aid if you do not already have it).
The children are very sociable, babbly/chatty, love being outdoors, being read books, toys, art and being out and about so we would like someone who shares their interest and enthusiasm and who has energy, initiative and confidence.
The babies have a strong sleep and meal routine (they sleep independently in their cots 2.5-3hrs total a day at present and eat very enthusiastically) so we are looking for a nanny to maintain that, while fostering their interest in the world, playing outside, interacting with other children and so on.
Beyond that, the most important quality to us is definitely reliability for both the children and for us.
We would love to find someone warm, nurturing and reliable, looking for a long-term position, who also feels we are a good fit as a family for them. Please get in touch if that is you.
Further info: Both of us (me and my husband) work full time and go into the office a few times a week - when not in the office we have a home office at the end of the garden, so we would aim to be out of the way during your working hours. We also have two (very laid back and child tolerant) cats.
If you have any questions or would like to have a chat in more detail, please don’t hesitate to drop me a message. Thank you
