Happy Island Childcare
I’m a qualified childcare educator with a Level 3 NVQ in Childcare and over 30 years of hands-on experience caring for young children. I’ve had the joy of supporting many “little angels” as they grow, learn, and thrive. My setting is truly special—warm, welcoming, and homely—where every child is treated like family. I also love to cook and prepare fresh, organic, international meals that the children (and parents!) love. It’s a home-from-home where comfort, care, and fun come together.
I also work with a talented assistant who is currently pursuing an MSc in Biology and is a skilled violinist. He engages the children with live violin performances, inspiring their interest in music and introducing them to the basics of music theory and rhythm in a fun and age-appropriate way.
We’ve just launched our new branch in Royal Wharf, opening in mid-June. We also offer school pick-up services from Royal Wharf Primary School.
My Experience
Worked in childcare from the age of 16 and have developed a genuine passion for the field. I find it incredibly rewarding and enjoyable, and I thrive in environments that support children's learning and development.
My Qualifications

Our son started at Kati’s place four months ago when he turned three. He had never been to a school/childminder setting before due to Covid, so I still remember the tears from the settle-in days... but look how far he came since then :) He now wakes up in the morning asks to come to Kati's place, and he always looks content whenever I pick him up. Everyday he brings home his work/drawings/writings learnt during the day. The place is very clean and lots of space for children to play.
We can not be more happy to see our son’s positive changes. He is more talkative and open, and has significantly improved English (from absolute beginner when he started)! This magic would not have happened without Kati and her co-workers’ loving, caring and passionate approach for these lucky children.
We are genuinely grateful to have Kati as our son’s first teacher.

I cannot recommend Kati highly enough because my daughter was always excited to see her and rarely wanted to go home. Kati is not only very experienced childminder but also a very caring and loving person who helped tremendously with my daughter development from a very early age.
Her knowledge, approach and professionals are exemplary and I am grateful for everything she did for us.

My son has been going to Kati's since he was two and half years old and he absolutely love everyday of it. He's already had bad experience at previous nurseries so I was a bit skeptical but Kati's reassurance put me at ease. Her setting is always so clean, her food is amazing and the kids always have fun. Over the last 6 months, my son has became a lot more confident and expressive. Most importantly, he's always so happy when I go and pick him up. I definitely felt very fortunate to have found such a reliable, trustworthy and quality childminder, I can't recommend her enough!
