My Experience

My childcare career started in September 2017. I decided to look into childcare due to my daughter going to school and wanting to be more flexible and to my surprise I absolutely love it.
I started to work with my daughter’s previous childminder. I helped prepare all meals for the children, plan activities and outings and also became familiar with the EYFS, working with parents and various educational settings. Whilst at work we would have a balance of outdoor and indoor time, we would celebrate certain holidays with doing crafts, throwing parties for children's birthdays and create fun role playing experiences. When outdoors we would search for bugs, splash in puddles and even go to the beach.
From June 2020 I became a Nanny, looking after children one on one. I have now worked with 3 separate families, only leaving due to them all starting school.

Prior to childcare I worked in Mark's and Spencer's as an Operations Manager for 19 years. I learnt to problem solve and to think quickly which I feel is important when working with young children. I worked well in a team but was also happy to work alone. I was always described as friendly, hardworking and approachable with a firm but fair attitude.

As mentioned earlier in my profile I have a 11 year old daughter who is full of life, she teaches me something new everyday and being a mother is the most rewarding thing I have done.
