About Me
My name is Bernadette and I have been a childminder for 7 years. I live in Burnbank with my two sons; Lucas who is 7 and Marcus, 21. We also have a well trained family dog called Shadow.

My Experience
I have been a childminder for 7 years and within this time, I am lucky to have cared for 4 families. So much so, 3 are still with me!
My experience:
- Completed Scottish Childminding Association training.
- Attained and complied with the Care Inspectorate throughout my practice.
- A mother to two children.
- Preserve and adhere to my Paediatric First Aid training, which I continuously re-examine and update.
What to expect for your child in my care:
- As a mother, I always aim to treat a child as I would expect and want my own to be treated. Meaning, that I will aim to be a supportive figure who can positively contribute to the development of every child.
- When the weather permits, my back garden can be used to play, go walks or visit various local parks (with the consent of a parent).
- Activities such as baking help improve: measuring, communication, gross and fine motor skills to name a few, but most importantly is fun and tastes delicious.
- I can provide support and encouragement for completion of homework.
- When required, dinners can be provided.
My Qualifications
Scottish Childminding Association training.
Paediatric First Aid course (every 3 years).
Getting it right for every child ( SCMA course required by the Care Inspectorate).
Inspections:
- My first inspection was completed in August 2014 which I received a mark 4 (good).
- In December 2018, I was able to improve my practice and proudly achieved a mark 5 (very good).
The inspection standards are a reflection of my daily work practice. To expand, the quality of care I provide is a service that I aim to develop and reflect upon to continue my professional development.
My Availability
I have a flexible availability which can be viewed in the table below. To be precise, 08:00-17:30 from Monday-Thursday. The children I am able to cater for range from 2 weeks - 15 years old.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
A full day rating from 08:00 - 17:30 = £35.
Hourly rates start from £5.

Bernadette is a lovely childminder. My son has been going since Sept 2020 and always looks forward to being picked up from school. He knows if weather permits he will get to the park with other mindies which is fab. Would highly recommend. Bernadette is very friendly and great with my son.
