Hi, my name is Sara and I run Sara's Little Sunflowers in South Ruislip. I am a former Primary school teacher with Early years experience. I am a mother of three. I have a 14 year old, 10 year old and a 5 year old. I provide a holistic environment which enables children from a young age to learn independence through play. As a former Primary school teacher I have been very fortunate to have a range of experiences. I have worked within early years, key stage one and key stage two and have also trained newly qualified teachers.
Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I have created a fun and nurturing setting in which children can blossom in my care. I have an indoor open plan space which is welcoming, safe and clean as well as a dedicated outdoor space with designated learning areas. I follow the EYFS framework in which I use my skill set as a teacher to tailor any needs your child may have. I am honest, caring and committed to fulfilling the needs of your child. My Experience
From babies to children I offer a service on both of the Ofsted child minding registers. I like to gage an understanding of where you as the parents believe your child is at before they start with me. This helps in assessing their development and milestones through learning through play. I use a range of observations, structured and non-structured play to help support the children in my care with their development. Most of all I aim for your child to always have fun. Parents can expect termly updates and are welcome to discuss how they feel their child is progressing in my care.
I provide Maths and English support for those children in Key stage 1 and 2 who would be in the after school session. Mini Maths and English booster sessions will be planned using their school year groups curriculum map for the term. My aim here will be to boost the individual child’s confidence and to go over their previous learning so that when they are at school they feel more independent with their learning.

My Availability
8.00am to 5.30pm
Monday to Thursday I work full time for both Ofsted registers.
Pick up and drop off for Deansfield School and nursery only.
I offer a couple of days a week during the school holidays, apart from the May half term holidays.

- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
£8.50 for Early years per hour
£6.50 for wrap around care per hour

We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Sara. Our son started with her when he was just 7 months old and, honestly, I still remember how nervous I felt. From the very beginning, her welcoming home and gentle manner immediately put my maternal instincts at ease — something that hadn’t happened with other settings we visited. She gave both me and my husband a real sense of trust and reassurance and she has never once let us down.
As first-time parents, we’ve learnt so much from Sara over the years. She’s always happy to share advice or little tips about anything, from weaning and potty training to social development, behavioural skills, to learning how to hold a pencil, her support has been invaluable. We genuinely couldn’t believe our eyes when our son was able to write his own name at just two and a half!
The end-of-term development reports have always been wonderful — detailed and full of photos and real examples. Through them, we even discovered new things about our own child that we hadn’t noticed ourselves. You can really see her previous experience as a teacher in the way she supports the children — there’s such a lovely balance between structure and warmth.
Another thing we really appreciate is how she keeps herself up to date with policies and procedures, always informing us of any updates. It gives us that extra peace of mind knowing everything is done properly and professionally.
Our eldest is now 4 and has grown into such a confident little boy, also thanks to her. We honestly couldn’t be more grateful. In fact, we trust her so much that our second child has now started attending too 😊
Sara is kind, caring, knowledgeable and truly passionate about what she does. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for looking after our children ❤️

From the moment we started with Sara, we could tell she is not your ordinary childminder. She brings many years of teaching experience with her and it shows in every part of what she does. She has established a real curriculum for the children—not just babysitting or playtime, but thoughtful learning, development and structure.
What truly sets her apart is how much heart and soul she pours into caring for the kids. Our son has been so well looked after; she has treated him with such warmth and attention, as if he were her own. The environment she creates feels more like home than a childminder setting—safe, nurturing, full of kindness, yet full of learning too.
We have seen such growth in our son all because she invests so much in the children’s wellbeing and development. We couldn’t recommend her more highly. You really feel she does this because she cares deeply and loves what she does.

My daughter has been with Sara since she was 10 months old for over 2 years and she recently took on my baby boy. My daughter has come on and developed well under Sara's care. She plans the weeks well with themes around books, seasons and special dates. Sara is flexible and made my return to work easy. She gives regular updates throughout the day which is nice when at work.
