My Requirements

Working Thursdays and Fridays from approximately 1pm to 7pm, with the possibility of additional hours during school holidays for outings, activities and occasional babysitting. Responsibilities would include occasional school and nursery pickups, preparing healthy dinners, helping with homework and piano practice, organising activities, outdoor play and getting the children ready for bed. We'd also appreciate help with the never ending family laundry, folding and putting clothes away, and keeping children bedrooms, wardrobes and play areas organised. We'll have a separate cleaning team, so general house cleaning isn't expected but light is.

Our children are confident, affectionate, energetic and full of personality, so we're looking for someone who brings a calm, patient and nurturing presence to balance their energy. We believe in firm but kind boundaries, positive encouragement and a good sense of humour. It's particularly important that someone can remain calm and emotionally steady, even on challenging days. We've unfortunately had a previous experience with someone who raised their voice and lost patience, which affected the children, so shouting is a definite no for us. Above all, we want someone who makes our children feel safe, happy and understood, while encouraging independence, respect and good manners.

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children, loves getting outdoors, is organised, takes initiative and is happy to muck in with family life. Someone who notices what needs doing without always being asked would be wonderful! Previous childcare experience, excellent references and an enhanced DBS check are important.

We're happy to employ the right person formally or someone self employed with salary dependent on experience. More than anything, we're hoping to find someone who will build a lovely relationship with our children and feel happy and valued as part of our family.
