My Summary

My Experience

I have completed over 600 hours of practical work experience supporting children aged 0–8 years across a variety of early years and educational settings, including an infant school, a Montessori nursery, and a preschool. These placements enabled me to develop a strong understanding of child development, learning through play, behaviour management, safeguarding, and supporting children to achieve positive educational and social outcomes.

In addition to my formal work experience, I have over seven years of one-to-one experience supporting a child diagnosed with both Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Through this role, I have gained valuable insight into adapting communication and learning approaches to meet individual needs, promoting emotional regulation, encouraging independence, and building a trusting, supportive relationship. This long-term experience has strengthened my understanding of neurodiversity, patience, consistency, and the importance of providing personalised support to help children reach their full potential.

I was a Police Officer for 3 years, where I regularly engaged with children from a wide range of backgrounds, often during a period of crisis, safeguarding concerns or emotional distress. This has enabled me to develop excellent communication skills, patience and empathy.

My current role as a Designated Deputy Safeguarding lead has provided me with me with further experience in protecting and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

My Qualifications

I hold a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Children’s Play, Learning and Development, which has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of child development, safeguarding, and effective practice when working with children and young people. I am fully First Aid trained and hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate.

My Availability

With my current job I work Monday to Friday 9 till about 1600. When I'm not working I am pretty flexible
