I'm super passionate about the importance of socialising, especially through outdoor play (we love parks!) Having become a mum myself in the last few years (babe is now 18 months) has definitely broadened my own knowledge and given me a new appreciation for all that parents do. I absolutely love my job as a nanny as it allows me to build close bonds with children and their families.
I am pretty skilled in finding the coolest groups, parks and softplays haha! We love visiting softplays during the winter months (although of course still go outside too) and love day trips and spending all day outside during the dryer and/or warmer days of the year! I absolutely adore animals so if you do have a pet that is a bonus for us! If not, we love a trip to the farm!
I'd love to join a family that's happy for me to bring along little Otis for some or all of the working days (however this is of course reflected in hourly pay). Having already cared for twins, I liken taking Otis to work as having twins myself! Otis has come to work with me from the age of 6 months old up until now and the bond that he has built with the other child and her family has been amazing. I however appreciate that some parents may wish for a one on one experience for the child/children, in which case I can consider other arrangements for the right family.
My Experience
I have worked in a variety of childcare settings including nurseries and schools and in 2021 enjoyed a nannying job where I cared for twin babies for just over 1 year (who I absolutely adored and still miss but thankfully am still in contact with!) I am about to finish up another nannying role with a almost 2 year old that we will miss dearly.
A few years ago my interest in children’s learning and development prompted me to further my knowledge by undertaking a degree in Early Years which I then completed with a 2:1. I specifically chose to focus on the importance of outdoor play for babies and young children which has been something we continue to reap the benefits of!
