About Me
From a young age I have always been passionate, hoping for a career in early years. I have grown up around children, being the oldest of 7 and also having family whom work within the early years sector. I am currently and Early years worker and been in the role for the past 2 years. I am a motived, enthusiastic, nurturing, organised, bubbly and a good communicator. I feel these are beneficial qualities working with children. I begin my BA childhood practice at university this year which i am looking forward to expanding my knowledge. I feel this is the most rewarding job, being a part of a child's growth and development while also forming attachments with both the child and their families which i believe is crucial.
My Experience
My journey started when i completed my National 5, NC and then my HNC. This led me onto opportunities to become a nanny to 1 year old twins, i then worked as a student. This feedback from this placement was outstanding and they provided me opportunities to go on and gain more experience with the primary 7's as a member of staff on their residential trip. Following on from this I was given a job as an early years worker in 2020 which is ongoing. Throughout this i worked alongside skilled colleagues which allowed me to develop my knowledge of the curriculum, legislations and policies and i was then able to use these effectively in my practice ensuring I was having a positive impact for the children in my care. I also have a Full driving licence and i have trained to administer insulin to Type 1 diabetes
My Qualifications
From attending south Lanarkshire college i have gained: National 5 Childcare and Playwork, NC Early Education in Childcare and my HNC Childhood Practice, i also have my child smile and first aid qualification, Type 1 Diabetes
