My Experience

I was a young leader volunteer at rainbows for 3 and a half years where I would assist and plan activities, helping children with tasks to develop their skills, particularly their confidence.

At Sixth Form, I received an ASDAN mentoring qualification by completing mentoring and safeguarding training. I mentored children in younger years to improve their reading and writing along with their general confidence in learning.

In August 2018 I volunteered for a charity called East African Playgrounds. I stayed at a school in Uganda where we built a playground and took part in activities, helping the children in lessons.

In June 2019, I was a camp Counselor at a residential Camp in America for 2 months. I provided 24 hour care to 7-16 year olds. I taught canoeing to 5 different groups of children each day where I had to adapt my lessons to different ages and abilities. Also, I supervised a cabin of 5 11-13 year olds with a Co-Counsellor
