About Me

Hello,
I'm an experienced, mature, organised and calm nanny.
I am passionate about nurturing children and supporting families with a positive, consistent and fun approach. As a student of psychology, evidence based research informs and directs my approach to childcare. I have developed close bonds with the families I have worked with, and am fortunate to have enduring friendships with a number of parents.
I am a very creative person and love to engage children with arts, crafts and music as a means of learning, engaging with the world and connecting with themselves. In addition, I'm happy to undertake household chores, pet care and cooking. I actually love cooking and particularly enjoy involving children in meal time preparation as a way for them to be active in their own nourishment, and to appreciate the fruits of their efforts.

My Experience

My experiences range from caring for newborns, toddlers, young children and teens; in sole charge and with parents; 24/7 work when parents work away or travel for holiday; and tutoring and support with exams/testing. Additionally, I have worked with autistic children and adults, and have experience supporting those with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties. In all, this amounts to over a decade in the care sector.
I renewed my paediatric first aid training, this year, and have an up to date DBS certificate.

My Qualifications

Currently studying a Psychology BSc, 8 GCSEs A-C, care standard health & safety certificate, paediatric first aid certificate, completed food hygiene training

My Availability

I am currently available for part time or ad hoc work around my university schedule.

Unprofessional

While Maria was great with my son, leaving working parents with no care and the unprofessional manner in the way she left her job was unacceptable and avoidable.
