About Me
I run an alternative education setting based on a smallholding in mid Cornwall called A Stable Start.
A Stable Start offers hands-on, small group, learner led opportunities, at a primary level. Based on a small holding, we offer unique experiences, combining theory with outdoor learning, to inspire your child’s curiosity and ignite their ‘internal flame’. These experiences include woodland exploration, Equine Facilitated Education and chicken keeping.
I am here to help aid your child’s development, giving you the peace of mind that your child can discover, learn and grow at a pace of their own.
I offer daytime small group tutoring 3 days a week and an out of hours 1:1 tutoring service (4pm onwards).
I also babysit when required.
My Experience
As a qualified Primary school teacher with 10 years extensive experience working in Mainstream and Private schools, Children’s centres, and in the Special Educational Needs sector. Most recently working as the lead teacher in a permaculture school (promoting learning in the outdoors). I therefore fully understand the importance of tailored education that is appropriate to suit the needs of your child, whilst fostering their strengths.

Kirsty was fantastic we felt so comfortable leaving her with our 2 year old who instantly loved her. She brought lots of new books and colouring which was great as we were on holiday and couldn’t bring loads of stuff. She took our little one out to the beach too, as well as putting her to bed with ease another evening. Looking forwards to using her again, it really helps us enjoying our holiday knowing now we have someone who can help share the load so we can go out as a couple once or twice without worrying. Thoroughly recommend.
