About Me

I am a primary teacher delivering private, tailored tuition on a 1:1 basis or in small groups for children aged 3-11, catering to the age, strengths, needs and interests of each child.

I am currently teaching in year 3 but I have experience teaching from nursery to year 6.

I am particularly enthusiastic and keen to help children with their early education: nursery children preparing for school, reception children beginning their learning journey or those transitioning from reception to the more formal curriculum of year one. I feel it is if the utmost importance to maintain a consistently high level of education, whilst adapting to and nurturing a child’s emotional and social needs.

My Experience

I have experience across all year groups from nursery to Year 6. My particular interests and strengths are the teaching of early literacy and maths. I am skilled in the teaching and delivery of phonics from phase 2-5, and trained in implementing the Read, Write Inc. phonics programme for the teaching of phonics, reading and writing. I am keen to apply pedagogical approaches to teaching early mathematics, focussing mainly on the basic principles of numeracy, whilst applying the expectations of the Early Years framework.

I also have experience supporting children with speech and language needs, strengthening speech sounds, social talk and widening vocabulary. I am able to assess children accurately and provide quality, meaningful feedback to parents in order to track children’s progress and watch them flourish.

I am also a keen singer and musician. I can read music and am able to support children with instrument or singing practise- please enquire for more details or to discuss specific requirements.

My Qualifications

BSc (Honours) Psychology
Post Graduate Certificate in Education- Qualified Teacher Status

My Fees

Tutoring from £30.00 per hour

£30 an hour for 1:1 tuition OR
£25 an hour per child for 1:2 tuition

Please note: I offer children in Early Years or KS1 no more than one hour of tuition at a time due to their developmental needs. Children in KS2 can complete two hours of tuition if desired.
