Full time activity leader in the Peak District, working at an adventure centre providing residential trips for ages 6-18 and adults. I love being outside and believe in the power of learning outside the classroom.
My Experience
I have worked with a handful of families through Work Away as I travelled in Canada and the UK - exchanging childcare and housework for room & board. I have babysat, tidied, cooked, taken children on day trips, done school drop-offs and pick ups, and read at bed time, while working on farms around this. I have also worked at a Children's Home (Ofsted rating - Good) for 6 months as a night worker, where I found the midnight hours didn't suit me. During the summer I work seasonally as a bushcraft instructor on multi-day camps around the country.
My Qualifications
I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a minor in psychology. I also have a teaching certificate for English as a Second language. I am a seasonal bushcraft instructor with outdoor camping and hiking experience. I have food hygiene and paediatric first aid training that is up to date.
