About Me

Hello,
My name is Claire and I am a mature nanny with 20 years of experience in childcare. My roles have included working as a Pre School Assistant, a room leader in a nursery, a Community Liaison Officer in a Children’s Sure Start Centre and as a nanny. I have an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Development, a Paediatric First Aid certificate and a current DBS. I am on the DBS update service.

I am a very proud mum of two adult children, an animal lover and have a very positive outlook on life. I enjoy reading, gardening, going to the gym, swimming and walking. I like to find new places to walk and take in the lovely views our countryside has to offer.

I have always wanted to work with children and support them to blossom. I never stop trying to find ways to make activities fun and engaging. I enjoy being part of a family where I can not only support the children, but the parents too. I pride myself on being organised and a good communicator. Communication is so very important so that parents and careers know that their little ones are loved, cared for and having fun when they are at work.
I enjoy cooking and researching new recipes, preparing messy play, craft and sensory ideas. I love reading to children and introducing props, for example, puppets to make the activity more visually stimulating. It’s quite amazing what you can do with card and sticky tape! I also enjoy the fresh air and believe in the importance of getting out in all weathers.

I truly believe that children will flourish when they are involved in the world around them and are surrounded by love and support. Happy children will become resilient, confident learners who will learn to take risks, feel safe to ask questions and develop independence.
