About Me

I am currently working in an early years setting and am room leader of the 0-2 room. I have been working in childcare for 7 years, the past year being in the 0-2 room. I have a level 3 qualification in early years childcare.

I am very passionate about working with children and chose to complete my qualification through an apprenticeship so I could gain knowledge and experience whilst training.

My Experience

Since leaving sixth form at 18, I completed an apprenticeship for 2 years gaining my level 2 and 3 qualifications in childcare. I have worked with all age groups throughout my time at this setting, from children of a few months old, up to children 11 years of age at the after school and holiday clubs that the setting runs.

For 3 years I have worked with two children who have Autism, gaining a close bond with them and their families. To extend my knowledge on Autism and to help the children to develop to the best they could I completed an Understanding Autism course. As one of the children had no speech I also competed a Makaton course so that we could communicate to each other.
