About Me
Hi! I’m Carmela, a reliable and creative nanny from Argentina, living in the UK for over 6 years. I have more than 5 years of experience working with children from 5 months to 9 years old, both in Argentina and Edinburgh. I’ve worked with several lovely families and can provide strong references.
I speak Spanish and English and love sharing my language through play and everyday routine. One of the children I’ve cared for has been spoken to only in Spanish since before she started talking, now, at 5 years old she understands everything like a bilingual child!
I’m also a trained artist with an HND in Illustration and a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication from Edinburgh College, and I love bringing creativity into childcare through art, music, theatre, and imaginative play. We’ve done everything from homemade theatre shows to music videos and “short films.”
I’m outgoing, kind, and hands-on. I’ve completed an online nanny course and pediatric CPR training. I’m currently looking for 3 mornings (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) for a permanent morning nanny position starting from end of November or beginning of December 2025.

My Experience
I have over five years of experience caring for children in both Argentina and the UK. In Argentina, I worked with a family for two and a half years. Since moving to the UK, I’ve worked with several families. The families I worked with:
The Caimari Family (Argentinian) for 2 years from 2016 to 2018 for a 2-year-old toddler and 5 and 7-year-old kids.
The Hale Burgues family (Scottish-Australian) for 9 months from November 2020 to July 2021 looking after a 2-and-a-half toddler and a 5-year-old girl.
My current employer, the Wallace family, since August 2021 (the kids were 1.5 and 4 when I started looking after them)
The Battiston family (Argentinian) from February to May 2022, caring for an 8-month-old baby
The Duncan family from May to September 2022, looking after a 5-month-old baby and a 5-year-old boy
The Marson family from January to June 2023

My Availability
I’m currently working with the Wallace family for after-school care, and with the Furlong family on Wednesday mornings. I’m looking to complement this with a morning position (Monday, tuesday and Thursday) starting end of November 2025.
As I support myself independently here in the UK, I’m seeking a role that offers a competitive salary, one that allows me to cover my living expenses while also giving me the time and flexibility to invest in my art career.

Carmela looked after my 2 young children. She was amazing with the children and they loved her. Carmela is kind, thoughtful, reliable, warm and caring - and a good cook! We still miss her.

Carmela has looked after our two boys (aged 3 & 6) on an ad hoc basis for about a year.
Carmela brings genuine enthusiasm to her work with and quickly establishes a secure rapport with the children.
Carmela is very warm and engaging with the children, they really look forward to the art and craft activities which she plans, and fun outings to the museum or parks.
We have wonderful peace of mind that they are in excellent hands with her and are engaged in interesting and enriching activities.

Carmela has babysat for my 3 kids many times and they all think she’s great! She’s thoughtful and fun and yet still gets the job done! Lovely person, lovely nanny! 🌼

We are really fortunate to have Carmela taking care of our daughter since she was 8 months old. She is not only very professional and proactive but also really affectionate with her, we can see how much our little one likes to be with her. Carmela has a lot of experience with kids of all ages and we feel confident and assured that she will handle any situation that may arise, we fully trust her skills. Moreover, Carmela is very enthusiastic and all the time proposes different activities, walks, games, etc. our daughter gets a lot of stimulation from her (she is also an amazing talented artist so she is plenty of resources and expertise to have your kids involved in painting, drawing and music. She is also proficient in different languages.). I should also mention that Carmela cooks extraordinarily well, indeed, she cooks every day for the baby and always do some extra for us (she also cooks very healthy food so our diet has improved substantially the days she is with us). There are more good things about Carmela: whenever the baby is taking a nap she always finds and proposes some task to help us, like shopping the groceries for cooking, taking the dog for a walk or folding the baby's clothes.
We can give our highest recommendation to Carmela, your kids will love her!

Carmela has been looking after my 1.5yo and 5yo since August. She is calm, kind and patient with them. Has taught Spanish to my 1.5 yo and does lots of arty things with my 5yo. I feel my kids are in great hands with her. I happily recommend her.
