About Me
Welcome! We're a friendly little family of four plus a cat who has lived in Benton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne over the last 2 years. Julia is half Danish and half American, but moved to the UK about nearly 20 years ago and basically considers herself English at this point but Julia's accent may return if you're from North America. Mark was born and raised in London by immigrant Filipino parents. We have lived in Oxford, London, Southampton and now... Newcastle! In the house, we speak mostly English and a bit of Danish.
In terms of hobbies, Julia loves to do nail art, Mark loves playing the piano and cycling and Theo loves balls, things with wheels and music. Essie loves music and dancing. We all love to sing! And we go to Catholic mass every Sunday (which you're welcome to join or not as you wish!). Our cat is named Yorkie, a big fluffy chocolate cat who is shy but loves food and pats.
My Requirements
Our family of four plus cat in Benton, Newcastle are seeking a reliable, knowledgable, and kind local live out nanny or regular babysitter asap for care of our lovely children, a 1 year old girl and 5 year old boy. Both are very socialable and curious kids.
Hours: 15-20 per week with additional ad hoc care as agreed. Essential hours would be 5pm-8pm on weekdays. Up to 5 fixed hours added at the weekend are a possibility.
Duties: Collection from local school and nursery required. Though this is a walkable distance (15-20 min) and there are good public transport links, use of own car may be preferred but not essential. The rest of the work would generally be carried out at our family home. This will include Year 1 (reading and writing) homework, imaginative and fun play, nappy changes, joining in the family evening meal, occasional bathing, and bedtime routine. Occasional walkable trips (e.g. to the barbers or swimming lessons) would be helpful, but can be negotiated. Cooking or cleaning (except tidying after kids) would not be your responsibility. It's all about childcare.
Salary: Negotiable by experience. No cash in hand. Full contract with contractual benefits included.
