About Me
Hi, I live in Pannal, Harrogate and have been child minding since 2011. I live in a 5 bedroomed semi detached house with 2 dedicated playrooms & a large fully enclosed garden. We are next to Pannal train station and a short walk from the 36 bus route to Leeds/Ripon. I have a parking space on my drive that parents can use if they are commuting on the train.
We are lucky enough to live in a beautiful village with a strong sense of community. We have a duck pond, woods, fields & 3 parks all within walking distance. I previously ran the village playgroup for 4 years.
I have 3 of my own children who are all at school. They are 16, 13 & 11 this year. My eldest baby sits in the village & works at her old primary school in the after school club. In terms of me, Mumming takes up most of my time! But given the chance, I enjoy reading, swimming & spa days! I live for school holidays and love going on adventures with my children & spending time with family and friends.
As a child minder I aim to be a loving first step into child care and a stepping stone to preschool. I am passionate about providing children with a loving positive experience when they are away from their parents / family for the first time. I would go stir crazy if I was at home on my own all day so we enjoy meeting up with other local child minders, attending playgroups & going on trips out. I communicate with my families via a w’s app group I set up with both parents & I run a closed F’book group for current families where I post a daily update on our adventures & any reminders / upcoming dates.
I currently work term time only as this fits with the funded hours. In addition, I provide a holiday club every school holiday for those who want non-term time care, this is at an additional cost as it’s un- funded.
My Experience
I am a qualified primary school teacher and an ASA swimming teacher. I also offer supply cover to a local preschool. I have taught Nursery-Year 4 as my own class and have braved upper KS2 as a supply teacher!
I have worked for North Yorkshire Council
as a Child Minding Advisor and have been rated outstanding by Ofsted twice (June 2015 & 2022) I have completed some contracted work for the Department for Education as a Child Minding Mentor. I have a current paediatric first aid certificate.
I offer child minding, nannying and weekend /evening babysitting.
My Qualifications

My Availability
Currently (summer term 2025) i provide supply cover to a local preschool on Mondays & child mind Tues - Fri. I don’t provide any wrap around care for local schools. I have 1 space on a Wednesday & Friday available at the moment until July 11th.
From 1st September 2025 I shall be working full time and offering 10hr days between 7.30am-5.30pm in order to increase my capacity to deliver the 30hrs funding. In September I will have 1 space on a Monday. I am full Tues-Fri.
My contracts are offered on a term time only basis for an academic year from Sept-July. Holiday club days (school holiday cover) are booked and paid for separately.
I’m taking details of those families interested in a space from Sept 2026. My wait list for Jan 26 is full with sibling babies.
