My Experience

With extensive professional experience teaching across both primary and secondary school environments, I bring a deep understanding of student development and curriculum standards from key stages early on through to GCSE preparation. My background includes working as a specialist teacher in various mainstream, secondary, and primary settings where I have successfully guided pupils of diverse ages and abilities. Grounded in a degree in Psychology, my approach is uniquely student-centered and trauma-informed, ensuring that children receive not only expert academic instruction in English language and literature but also the emotional safety, patience, and targeted support they need to build lasting confidence and thrive.

My Qualifications

Degrees & Academic Background: I hold a PGCE in Secondary English (ages 11–16) with QTS from the University of Cumbria (September 2022 – June 2023) and a 2:1 classification in Psychology with Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Central Lancashire (September 2018 – July 2021). 
A Levels: I completed A Levels at Blackburn College (2016–2018) in Sociology (A), Psychology (B), and English Language (C). 
Secondary Education: I attended Blackburn Central High School (September 2011 – July 2016), achieving strong GCSE results including English Literature (A), English Language (A), History (A), Maths (B), Science (B), Spanish (B), and Art (B). 
Safeguarding & Professional Training: I hold certifications in Child Safeguarding (Level 1 and Level 2), Manual Handling, and Equality and Diversity Awareness.
