Why do I love working with children?
The main reason is working with children makes me a better person. I lead by example showing kindness, honesty, patience and treating others how you would like to be treated. Kids innately understand these principles and I love to be around, teach and reciprocate that energy.
What makes me a good nanny?
My engagement and enthusiasm levels are very high when it comes to children in my care. Taking an active role in the games or activities they choose to do or supervision when necessary. I believe in treating children with mutual respect, asking questions and responding mindfully. Also having amazing older siblings who have always led with kindness and patience throughout my childhood has led me to have this approach of understanding and empathy which I replicate with children I work with and my younger family members. I love creating engaging and fun activities for children based on their interests and introducing them to things and places they haven’t heard about before. Seeing children learn and understand things is definitely an enriching experience for me. The nursery has taught me a lot about the safeguarding and health of safety of children and I’m vigilant and precautious when it comes to safety measures and I understand the importance of indoor and outdoor supervision at all times.
I take and welcome direction very well. I’m a great communicator and not afraid to ask questions or voice any concerns.
What I’m looking for in the family?

My Experience
Nanny: 27/08/2021- 11/12/2021.
Working for an amazing family with a 5 year old daughter. She had a lot of creative energy and I would see to it that I could help facilitate her creative energy with any ideas and crafts that I could think of. We made dresses, jewellery, paintings, halloween costumes, shoes; our own games and dolls in our short time together before they moved abroad which I genuinely enjoyed as they lined up with my interests also. My typical day would be either having a snack ready when she arrived from school or picking her up from school, taking her to a playdate of facilitating a fun activity of her interests,making a balanced dinner and bath time.
Nursery Assistant (little tugboat nursery) : 08/2020 - Current (reference available)
I work in a part time floater position and have worked with children aged 6m- 2y 2-3 & 3-5.
My responsibilities included:
- preparing fun and engaging activities for children according to the EYFS.
-reading to children and asking comprehension questions after.
- teaching the pre schoolers how to write their names and numbers before they go to school.
- Actively listening to children and finding out what they want to do in the day and making it possible.
Nanny: 07/2020- 05/ 2021 (reference available)
Working for a family with a 5 year old son. I also assumed a primary care role for 8 weeks when schools shut.
He was a very active imaginative child who loved football. We spent most of our time playing football, doing puzzles and games and taking him to his extra curriculars. My normal day would be picking him up from school, taking him to the park and playing, after I would prepare tea and we would play some more until it was time for me to go home.
Weekend Nanny: Ages 2-8. 1/06/2020- current. (References available)
I work with a couple of families from my neighbourhood and parents from the nursery to organise mutual playdates and weekend nannying for families I have great relationships with. I'm very flexible with evening and weekend nannying and would of course provide priority to the families I work the most hours for.
