About Me
I am a calm and friendly primary school teacher who is able to tutor in-person. I am very experienced in teaching phonics, early maths, reading and writing. I enjoy getting to know the children and planning fun activities for them. The Year 1 Phonics Check and Key Stage 1 SATs are coming up soon and I am able to help your children to prepare for these assessments.
My Experience
I have been a primary school teacher for 10 years and am qualified to teach children from nursery up to age 11. The majority of my teaching career has been spent in Key Stage 1: spending many years preparing children for their Phonics Check, Key Stage 1 SATs and teaching early maths, reading and writing. I am currently a PPA teacher at an 'outstanding' primary school, teaching from Nursery to Year 6. I will be a Reception teacher from September.
I have previously worked in an independent school as a Teaching Assistant.
I am happy to support children with homework tasks. I believe that presentation is also very important so I can incorporate handwriting activities into each session, if needed, encouraging your child to take pride in their work.
My Qualifications
I have a 2:1 in Education Studies and then went on to do a Primary PGCE with some Masters credits. I have recently completed a course to become a School-Led Tutor through the National Tutoring Programme as part of Covid recovery.
My Availability
I am available to tutor on weekend mornings and can possibly do some afternoons. This is dependent on my family's plans as I have two young children. I am also able to book in weekday sessions during school holidays.
