About Me
Hi! I'm Lou. I am a registered childminder with the CIW. I live in Monmouth with my husband, two young boys and Labrador, Sparty. I am passionate about providing experiences and opportunities that support learning and development. At the heart of my service is a caring, stimulating atmosphere in which children can have fun, be themselves and feel valued as individuals.
My assistant and I firmly believe that all children should be nurtured and cared for according to their needs and own interests. We facilitate this through carefully planned activities as well as responding to 'in the moment' opportunity to forward learning and development. We are great advocates of play being the vehicle for learning. Most of all we want the children we care for to be happy when in our care! Happy children play, explore, engage, challenge themselves, critically think, investigate and thrive!
My Experience
I spent a happy 13 years as a qualified Primary School Teacher leading KS1 and KS2 as well as being specific subject lead. I gained many qualifications and acclamations that included deputy Safeguarding lead. I have worked across the primary age range including teaching in a nursery class. I have since gained Level 3 Children's Care, Play, Learning and development, and first aid certificate. I continue to make professional development a priority and have undertaken training in positive behaviour strategies and trained in delivering Curriculum for Wales 2022.
My Qualifications
BA (hons) Primary Studies QTS, Safe Guarding, First Aid, Level 3 Children's Care, Play, Learning and development.
My Availability
My service opens at 7:30am and closes at 6:00pm. I provide breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks in between meals. I offer pick up and drop off to Overmonnow Primary School children.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My fees are £5 per hour. This and snacks, travel and entry costs to groups. Breakfast is 50p and Lunch and Dinner £1 per meal.
