My Summary

My Experience

I have been working with children for over two years.

I first began working with children as a baby sitter for my family and friends which was mostly looking after two or more children in the evenings or day times usually on weekends. This job usually entailed taking the children out in the day to do different activities and then make them dinner and put them to bed at nighttime.

I then decided to work my way up and start working for a professional company. I started working part time at mencap which is a baby sitting company for children with special needs I have worked for this company for over two years now and although it can be challenging at times I love my job. I am trained in special educational needs and have had over two years experience in this type of work.

I have studied child care at secondary school and passed with a B grade.

I also work part time as a cleaner in a primary school I have been doing this for over one year therefore i would be happy to do house keeping as part of my nannying duties.

I have worked at Baston House School for over one year and I have become a valued member of the team and school community. I work with pupil’s who have ADHD, profound multiple learning and ASD. My role as a teaching assistant has meant that I have been entrusted with many different aspects of the day to day arrangements needed for the school to operate on a daily basis. My day at Baston House School never consists of the same routine or activities. Each day presents a different challenge. This means I am very flexible in my approach to challenging and difficult behaviours on a case by case occasion. On a daily basis I provide a stimulating environment for the pupils. I help all pupils to understand instruction’s and school work by using a tailored technique for each individual pupil. Another important part of my role is to encourage each pupil’s confidence and independence. I have worked closely with form tutors, subject teachers and deputy head teachers to develop personalised education and classroom plans that will best suit each individual student under my authority. Along with providing teachers with feedback on pupil’s and strategies which will best help each individual pupil to thrive in every lesson.

I am currently working as a teaching assistant at Riverside school.
